Which charger that is selected as the DLM Master is under the installers control. Factors as modbus meter placement and similar could be determining factors. If external power meter using modbus is selected for the installation, please look at the guide for external meter for details on how to configure the communication between master and external meter.


When DLM Master charger is selected, follow the step by step guide to finish its config.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Connect to the charger following Connect laptop to controller
  2. Open page "operator"
  3. Find parameter "Dynamic Load Management"
    1. Dynamic Load Management = "DLM Master (With internal DLM-Slave)"
  4. The term "with internal dlm-slave" tells the charger that it is both DLM Master and a charger. If configuration is done for a double charger EVB20x/EVF20x, then configuration for DLM must also be done for Slave side in the charger, this is setup as a DLM Slave configuration.
  5. When DLM Master parameter has been turned on, new settings will emerge, these must be set according to the installatiopn.
    1. EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit (L1/L2/L3)
    2. Operator EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit (L1/L2/L3)
    3. Minimum Current Limit
    4. Disconnect Limit
    5. IT Network

  7. When parameters has been set, select "Save & Restart"
  8. When charger has rebooted, a new page called "DLM" is visiable, open it and confirm that settings are correct.
  9. Please Note! When all the DLM-slaves has been configured, log back into the DLM Master, open the "DLM" page, and verify that all DLM slaves are communicating with the DLM Master.


Dynamic Load Management

Specifies the ChargePoint's role in a DLM network. There MUST be exactly one DLM Master in a DLM network managing multiple DLM-Slaves. Typically, a ChargePoint configured as DLM Master will also host an internal DLM-Slave. Note: A ChargePoint configured as standalone DLM Master will not host an internal DLM-Slave. If used for charging anyway, its power consumption will be not controlled by DLM!


DLM Network Id

Several DLM groupings might coexist in one physical LAN. In case of DLM Master-Auto-Discovery, they are distinguished by Master-Auto-Discovery Network Id.  


Disable Discovery Broadcasting

Disables the broadcasting of DLM Discovery beacons in the DLM master. If disabled, DLM slaves will not be able to find their DLM master automatically with the help of the DLM Master-Auto-Discovery feature. 


DLM Algorithm Sample Rate

The DLM algorithm will not calculate and re-assign current to it's DLM slaves any faster than at this configured rate. As an exception, EVs getting ready to charge will be considered and assigned current immedeately. 


Allow EV Wakeup

Signal PWM to those EVs, which deliberately decided not to charge in order to allow them to wakeup and continue charging later.  


EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit (L1/L2/L3)

Overall current limit for DLM available for distribution to EVs.


Operator EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit (L1/L2/L3)

Operator current limit for DLM available for distributionto EVs. The 'Operator EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit' is equal or smaller than the 'EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit'. It can be changed without rebooting the chargepoint. Thus a backend could use this parameter to alter the energy available for charging EVs dynamically. The backend will not be able to set a value higher than the 'EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit'.


External Input 1 Config

Adds a configurable offset to 'EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit' based on GPI External Input 1.

External Input 2 Config

Adds a configurable offset to 'EVSE Sub-Distribution Limit' based on GPI External Input 2.

External Meter Support

If enabled, an external, secondary meter allows to also consider the power consumption of additional load. The power available for charging EVs will be adjusted accordingly. Please make sure, 'Meter configuration (Second)' is configured, preferrably to a 3-phase, phase aware meter.


Current Imbalance Prevention

If enabled, DLM will not exceed the 'Current Imbalance Limit' configured.  


Minimum Current Limit

Minimum current limit that charging should not go below.


Disconnected Limit

Current limit when disconnected from DLM network.


IT Network

Set to 'On', if your power distribution system is IT (isolé-terre). If set to 'On', the DLM Master will only accept DLM Slaves, whose phase rotation is set to 'Single-phase system (IT earthing)'. If set to 'Off', the DLM Master will only accept DLM Slaves, whose phase rotation is not set to 'Single-phase system (IT earthing)'. Connection attempts of DLM Slaves configured differently will be denied.  


Clear persistent DLM slave DB

Select 'Clear' and 'Save' to clear the database of known DLM slaves
