If charger reports Mode 3 state D when a charging cable is connected to the Type 2 socket outlet and no EV is connected, then it is possible that there's a wiring issue with the Control Pilot and Proximity wires. Follow below steps to rectify this.

Add the steps involved:

  1. Power off the charger
  2. Locate the CC1612 charge controller which is having the problem
  3. Locate the CP and PR connectors on the CC1612 charge controller
  4. Swap around the CP and PR wires
  5. Power on the charger
